I have been an Electrical Engineer for almost 30 years, and have been using Xcelite products since the beginning. They were always considered a premium brand for electronic assembly.
That said, I was appalled at the quality of these cutters. The cutting edges were cut incorrectly. Under a microscope, I saw that they were cut as convex arcs rather than straight edges. The result is that the cutting edges meet in the middle and flare out at the tips when closed. The harder you squeeze the handles, the more the tips spread! As a result, it is impossible to cut thin wire near the tip. Worthless. I threw them in the trash.
I haven’t bought a replacement yet, but it will definitely not be an Xcelite product. Very disappointing!
